A keen advocate of his industry, Rodney Drain has been involved in road transport since the mid 1970s when he began to drive trucks.

By the 1980s, he had obtained his multi-combination licence and purchased his own tipper and prime mover. The rest is history.

Rodney and Caroline began to specialize in road train freight throughout inland Northern Australia and became renowned for services to Western and North Western Queensland and the Northern Territory. By 1996, Rodney was operating weekly services from the East Coast of Queensland to Darwin and these continued to include Alice Springs and the Tanami Desert gold mines.

Today, Rodney still runs a successful transport business throughout Queensland and Northern Territory. Always interested in a bargain himself, Rodney knows how difficult it is to get loans to get started and is always out to support the local grazier need to move his own feed, the single operator who needs to make a living and small family businesses needing a decent trailer here and there.

This site offers reasonable prices for mainly registered and inspected gear so that the road transport industry can survive and thrive instead of suffering decline.

  • Only bank cheques are accepted and deposits by Electronic Funds Transfer will be confirmed by the receiving bank prior to release of vehicle.
  • No vehicle will be released until paid in full.
  • A deposit will be required to hold any vehicle - maximum holding period on any one vehicle on deposit is five working days from date of receipt in bank of deposit.
  • If the vehicle is not paid in full within that holding period, it will be deemed unsold and return to the market. The deposit will not be returned.
  • All costs of removing the vehicle from the holding yard are the responsibility of the buyer.
  • Once a vehicle is paid in full, it must be removed from the holding yard within five days of receipt of confirmed payment in full.
  • All vehicles will be unencumbered prior to release.
  • Any current inspection certificates will be given to the buyer and where a vehicle is registered, a transfer of registration form must be completed.
  • Vehicles may or may not currently registered and it is not a condition of sale that the vehicle have either a current certificate of inspection or of registration.
  • Any vehicle inspection and/or registration is the responsibility of the buyer.
